Our Story
COO and Founder Elston Garrison
Elston Garrison is a seasoned IT professional with a diverse career spanning over three decades. His journey in the tech industry began in 1993 at Synchronet, a value-added reseller based in Houston, Texas, where his skills and dedication quickly set him apart. Within a few years, Elston transitioned to the role of IT manager at Transenergy Management, a software company, where he further honed his expertise in managing IT operations and leading tech-driven projects.
In 1998, Elston took his talents to Los Angeles, embarking on significant projects with high-profile clients. He played a pivotal role in Princess Cruises’ server conversion from Novell Netware to Windows Server, demonstrating his ability to manage complex IT infrastructures. Concurrently, he contributed his expertise to Sylvan Learning Systems, designing a network for their new video production facility in Marina Del Rey, showcasing his versatility and innovative approach to IT solutions.
Elston’s career trajectory continued upward as he joined The San Diego Union Tribune later in 1998. As the Senior Engineer, he was responsible for the email and data communications platforms, ensuring reliability and security in the newspaper’s digital communications. His technical acumen and leadership were further recognized during his tenure at Frontier Airlines, where he spent a decade adapting the company’s systems to meet post-9/11 security requirements, illustrating his ability to navigate and implement critical changes in response to external challenges.
In 2012, marking a significant milestone in his career, Elston co-founded TEKZYS with James Cox. This venture symbolizes his transition from a seasoned IT professional to a visionary entrepreneur, leveraging his extensive experience and insights into creating innovative tech solutions that address contemporary challenges. Elston Garrison’s career is a testament to his dedication, adaptability, and forward-thinking approach in the ever-evolving field of information technology.
